Pancake Confessions

Whether you will fast for Lent or stick to your guilty pleasures no matter what, digging into pancakes on a Shrove Tuesday is a good way to indulge your taste buds and celebrate spring's arrival. With London being inundated with pancakes menus in just a week you don't even need to get your hands dirty - and make a kitchen messy. In advance of the 4th of March I headed to Island Grill at the iconic mid-century Lancaster London with Sarah to have a sneak peek at the Shrove Tuesday menu.

For me the savoury pancakes with spinach, wild mushrooms and ricotta cheese (pictured above) are the winner. They come with your choice of side (I went for a rocket salad with parmesan flakes) which compliments pancakes perfectly well. My sweet tooth cravings were satisfied with banana and chocolate pancake - that goes well with black Americano on a bright sunny morning.

When you head to Lancaster London's Shrove Tuesday on the 4th March, you are very likely to be hit with decision making anxiety and food envy as Island Grill will welcome you with Pancake Station to choose your savoury or sweet treats, available from noon until 7pm. My recommendation - go for both sweet and savoury. You will love it;)
